• Register with MedCommons?

  • Click Register on the Sign In page or Create Account in Facebook.
  • Use your Amazon Payments account - the fee is $2/mo plus storage charges - you may cancel any time.
  • Verify your Email by clicking the link in the email sent by MedCommons.
    
  • Print your Registration Receipt and keep it safe. You now have and control a HealthURL for as long as you pay your subscription fee.
• Get paid for patient-centered information services?

  • Sign In.
  • Add a Service.
  • Create a Voucher with a specified price.
  • Accept or change the price, print the Voucher and hand it, fax it or mail it to the patient.
  • Tell the patient when to expect the information to be ready for them to pick up online.
    
  • You can ask for cash or credit card payment on the spot. The patient will also be able to pay at home.
• Add paper documents to a HealthURL?
  

  • Click Reprint in Vouchers page and print the voucher to use as a fax cover sheet.
  • Stack the documents behind the cover sheet and fax to the toll-free number listed on the cover sheet.
    
  • The issuer of the Voucher will be billed per page for fax conversion to PDF.
  • The PDF file, including the cover sheet, will be added to the HealthURL as a reference in the Current CCR.
  • For patient safety, a ! on the recently added PDF file is a reminder to verify that the file was added to the correct patient. Click to open the PDF and check that the patient's name matches the name on the HealthURL.
  • If the names match, click the ! symbol on the PDF thumbnail and it will change to a check. If the names do not match, delete the PDF file reference.
    
• Add medical images to a HealthURL?

  • Install DDL
  • Open the HealthURL
  • Click Add DICOM
  • Click Upload CD in DDL menu.
  • Accept default or navigate to the folder containing the image files.
  • Click Status in DDL.
  • Find the study you just loaded into DDL on the Upload list and click Match to Pending. Do not shut down DDL until upload is complete.
  • Refresh HealthURL to verify images are accessible. For DICOM networking, use the DDL About page to configure.
• Instruct the patient?

  • The patient will follow instructions on the voucher to access the associated HealthURL. Optionally, the practice can customize the vouchers look and instructions specific to each service.
    
  • The patient will be asked to pay the face value of the voucher, if any. MedCommons will add money to your Amazon Payments account net of the voucher cost.
    
  • The voucher and associated contents will expire on the date you specified but the patient will have the opportunity to access the contents and to copy them to a permanent HealthURL up until that point.
